White House, TN - We're visiting family again this weekend, to see the grand-daughters participate in a play at their church. We'll be in Huntsville next Saturday for a book signing at Shaver's and to go to the dance talked about in the adjoining column. Hope to see you all there.

Jerry Brewer -
Lee's Little Drummer Boy
Will Play for Christmas Dance
by Tommy Towery
Class of '64

Jerry Brewer, Class of '64, sent me the above poster to let all of you know that the current band he plays with will be hosting a special Christmas dance this coming weekend.

Most of you will recognize the Timemachine Band as the band that played for our latest reunion, so we all know that there will be some good dance music.

This is also a chance to party with our friends from Butler and Huntsville High and other friends who attended other schools than Lee.

Any of you who have attended one of the previous dances held at the Elks Club know that a fun time will be had by all.

As an extra attraction at the dance, I'll be setting up a table for a book signing for my latest book The Baby Boomer's Guide to Growing Up in "The Rocket City".

Sue and I will be headed to Huntsville on Saturday to participate in a book signing event at Shaver's Bookstore in the Railroad Station Antique Mall and hope that if you are still looking for a unique Christmas present that you will consider buying a copy of my book for that special friend.

Shaver's is located on the second floor of the Mall - 315 Jefferson Street North in Huntsville. It's down by the old railroad depot, but not in that complex of buildings.

I want to thank all of you classmates who have already ordered copies of the book for presents. It has certainly made me feel that you appreciate the time and effort I put into writing it.

So, if you get a chance I'd love for you to come down and visit with
Sue and me from 1 - 4 pm on Saturday, December 18th at Shaver's or 8 pm at the Elk's Club. I'm looking forward to seeing some of you then.

I want to thank Carolyn Burgess Featheringill for letting us know about the passing of Suzanne.

I never met her personally.  That was my loss.

We became friends through email over the past year.  I found her to be a very caring, generous person.

I personally will miss her.

I wish that I had known her better.  The world is the poorer for her passing.

Joy Rubins Morris, Class '64 - I believe, if memory serves, that during the Christmas holidays you could stencil your windows with various holiday designs using Glass Wax.  Glass Wax was a glass cleaner that you used on a sponge or cloth and  dabbed onto the stencil to create a festive look on your windows. (When it dried it left a white film.) Then after Christmas, you just took a cloth and wiped it off thus cleaning your windows while removing the art.

Merry Christmas to all - May your season be blessed with health, happiness and love.
