Memphis, TN - Back at home again after a wonderful trip to Huntsville. Sue kept telling me all the way home what a great time she had at the reunion, and I feel the same way.

I apologize for leaving Bob Hartman's name out of the Memorial Tribute, but a review by the class of '65 failed to notice his name missing. That has been corrected now.

There is also no list of former teachers we have lost, but we need to correct that before the next reunion.

T. Tommy

Youtube Memorial Tribute

2010 Reunion

I'm leaving in the tribute video one more week, since I had to go back and edit it to add Bob Hartman to the Class of '65. Despite checking and rechecking the video, his name was inadvertently left out of the memorial and it has now been corrected. The video above is the Memorial Tribute to all the classmates we know we have lost over the years since our graduations from the three classes. We know there are others but we cannot confirm the fact. For those interested, the music is from the soundtrack for Pearl Harbor.

Before and After

Skip Cook, Class of '64 and John Drummond, Class of '65 are pictured at the 2010 reunion and in their classic pose from the 2005 photos above. This looks like one of those "spot the differences" games we used to play in the Weekly Reader magazines. The bottom one is 2005.

Becky Fricke Garrison and Paulette Reddick Turner, both Class of '66, were the other two classmates who had their photos unidentified in last week's issue.

Ronnie Hornbuckle  - Had lunch today with one of the musicians, Jack Robbins, in y’alls band Saturday night. He just kept going on about what a great time everyone was having and consequently had a lot of fun himself. Saying it was one of the best parties the band had played in a long time.

Linda Taylor, Class of '64 - They say this everytime they play for one of our parties....even when they played in the Barn!!! They just need to let us know when they want to play for a GOOD party! My daughter was in band at HMS/HHS so I had gotten to know Jack, George and Don over the years....all are great musicians and lots of fun. Yeah...they were having as much fun as we were...almost!! I'll have to send them the pics of the band....

Bob MacIlveen - Your memorial  for our Lee classmates  is extremely well done. With sadness we view our former classmates. I personally was very touched and only learned recently about the passing of Sheila C.
You should know that Dorothy MacIlveen, my mother, and Lee High School French teacher for eight years passed over five years ago. She was a devoted teacher who promoted excellence for her students and the joys of the French language and culture.

Bruce Reed, Class of '67 - I have just reviewed your web site for Lee's Traveller.  I enjoyed it as much if not more than your book.  The tributes presentation to our former class mates was outstanding but the tribute you presented for our Troops was out of sight.

To see some of our classmates photos who have passed from '64 - '66 was very saddening since I knew so many of them and had not been aware of their passing.

Thank you so much for the effort you have put into this web site.  I would love to see other classes, especially '67, with this same information made available.

Johnny Roberts, Class of '66 - My compliments to the organizing team on the successful reunion . It was every thing I hoped it would be. It was obvious that a lot of work went into the planning. It was great to re-connect with friends.

Clinton Arni Anderson -  From an artist viewpoint, I KNOW how much work went into just these three displays showing. I'm sure everyone really enjoyed them being there. I just wish I could have been there.  Not in that class but I'm sure I know a lot of you!
It must have been wonderful.

Linda Beal Walker, Class of '66 - Thank you for the memorial tribute.  I had missed some of the announcements.

Thank you also for the reunion pictures.  Is there some way you can identify some of the people for those like me who did not attend?  I recognized you, but not the others.

I want to thank all of those that put the reunion together even though I was not there.  I know it takes lots of time and preparations to get everything organized so you all could visit and have a good time.  Thank you and congratulations.

Eddie Burton -  Tommy, the Memorial Tribute was breath taking. Thanks.

Russ Sanders, Class of '66 - I would like to thank the reunion committee for everything they've done. The reunion was a great hit and the decorations were wonderful. Joan and I had a wonderful time and we will be there again at the next reunion. Thanks.

Kathy Harris Jones, Class of '66 - Has everyone recovered??!  I heard compliments, compliments and more compliments.  It was so much fun for me to see everyone ELSE having so much fun! Good job everybody!

J.R. Brooks, Class of '64 - It was grand.  A large crowd did not want to leave when the band had to stop.  This is always a good sign.  We will now check to see about returning money to those who paid, but could not attend.  Also, we often make a donation to the school.  We need to see about that as well.

Patsy Hughes Oldroyd, Class of ‘65 - It was all very wonderful, and I doubt that we can ever have another one that could compare with this one, at least in terms of the decorations. The Backstage Florist guys far exceeded my expectations for decorations in the ballroom and buffet areas. It was all just so completely customized for our group of classmates for our time in school and just growing up in general in Huntsville. We simply must thank Carolyn again for conveying such good information and pictures for those guys to be able to work their magic. I think that this one was a one time very special affair that we will talk about at all future reunions. My thanks to all of those who did so much more, over and above, what most of us contributed. I have just had the best time working with all of you on this reunion committee. I hate for it to all be over.

Alice Preston, Class of '64 - The handbooks are being mailed today (to the ones that ordered them).    Thanks everyone!   Great reunion!   How in the world can we top this one!

Linda Provost, Class of '66 - Did we have fun or what?  OMG i have never seen such a great looking group of people under one roof ever before in my life!!!  I swear that all of my Lee classmates have gotten better looking with age.   I want to say a big thanks to everyone who worked to make this reunion possible.  Those of use who live away from Huntsville are very appreciative of your efforts and you all made it a wonderful weekend of events.  A special thanks to Carolyn Burgess for her generous gift of the amazing decor in the ballroom on saturday night.  Walking into that ballroom was like stepping back in time and it made for a special evening of memories and renewing old acquaintances.  As usual Jerry's band did a great job of playing our "oldies but goodies."  The entire weekend flew by and there was just not enough time to catch up with everyone.   I'm already looking forward to our next reunion in 5 years.  In the meantime, let's stay in touch via Tommy's great website.  Tommy, you're the glue that holds us all together and what a great job you do.  Hugs to everyone in my Lee Familee!!!

Chris Grant McMahon, Class of '66 -  I can't believe I wasn't able to attend the reunion last weekend. I did get to see a few of my long lost compadres at lunch and catch up with them. Looking at the pictures and reading the comments, it looks like everyone had a great time. Hope I don't have to wait another 5 years to see all of you. Drop me a line anytime.

Jim Bannister  - Just wanted to let everyone know what I great time I had at the Reunion. The Reunion Commitee deserves a lot of praise for their efforts. The weekend went off with out a flaw and was first rate all the way. Good things don't just happen. Through hard work and dedication, good people make good things happen. I send my sincere appreciation to each and every person that helped make this a most memorable event.

The Rest of the Story

For those that did not know, Carloyn Burgess Featheringill, Class of '65, is the person responsible for the great decorations at the reunion. Her husband Bill generously footed the entire bill for the professional decorations for the ballroom, which not only saved the class money, but also allowed the reunion committee a welcome break from having to set them up. We will never be able to thank Carolyn and Bill enough for this gift of "friendship."
