Website to Take on New Look Editor Promises Changes Coming Starting this week and over the next few weeks we'll be making a few changes to the looks and contents of our website. This is being done for several reasons, one of which is that the disk space at our current provider is getting close to the maximum allowed. One of the changes is that we've decided to remove the music section of the site. The music files were much too big and really didn't get the traffic needed to keep it active. We're replacing it with a new Archives Section. This is an attempt to give new visitors access to past things that we have posted on the site. The General Message Board is also being eliminated because the provider has dropped the free service. We will be looking for a replacement provider in the near future. Until that time, please e-mail the editor with any information that would have gone onto the Message Board. |
Mailing List Update I have been on a campaign this week. I have personally e-mailed every alumni from all three of our classes who are registered on Classmates.com but were not signed up as members of our mailing list. This included many of you who are regular visitors but had not known how to or taken the time to really register as members of the Mailing List The good news I have to report is that as a result of those e-mails, 29 of you have either joined for the first time, or took the time to update your e-mail addresses. For that I thank you. I am working on organizing our list of all members, but for now you can click here to see the list of new members. |

Important Message About Our Web Site Homestead.com has announced some major changes which will impact our website in the near future. Effective on June 26, they are dropping the e-mail server they have been using and I am not sure what that will do to our mailing list so I will be sending out one last reminder to check the website for updates. I may not have that ability after tomorrow. There are also going to drop the free web hosting service that we use now and will start charging. With that possiblity known, I am looking for another hosting site. I have also gone ahead and registerd our own web domain so that we can have a permanent web address. I have registered www.leealumni.com for our web. You should start using that now. If the site moves in the future, that address will always work, no matter where it is hosted. |

If you wish to, you can add these items about me: I began a career in broadcasting at WAAY Radio in 1962 during high school. In 1964, I went to work at WAAY-TV as a broadcast engineer. From 1965-1973, I was in production at MMSC-TV, a Department of the Army installation on Redstone Arsenal. In 1974, I moved to Idaho and became Director of Operations at KIVI-TV in Boise, ID. I returned to Huntsville at WAFF-TV in 1977 as an account executive and became station manager in 1978. In 1979, I moved to WTOC-TV (CBS) in Savannah, GA, as Station Manager. During the 70's and 80's, I anchored newscasts; wrote, directed, announced, and produced commercials and local programming in addition to my management job. In Savannah in 1980, I won the TV Station of the Year Award from the Georgia Association of Broadcasters. I and my production crews also won over 30 ADDY awards for commercials that we produced. In the mid-80's I moved into computing. Since 1990, I have been on government Information Technology contracts for NASA with Boeing and SAIC at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, the Johnson Space Center in Houston, and NASA HQ in Washington, DC. |
