I don't know if I'll make it to the reunion or not. I don't know if I have a big enough vehicle to get me and the stuff I am bringing with me to Huntsville. I'm bringing a couple of laptops, a couple of projectors, a printer and scanner, some of my books, some CD's, a few signs, my golf clubs, and Sue. We're going down on Thursday night so that we can enjoy the whole event. I was going to write a prayer for the reunion, with things like "Lord help me be humble about my own accomplishments and thankful for those of others." And things like "Lord thank you for allowing me to get together with my friends." But when I got to thinking about it, I was afraid that I might end up with something like "Lord, please don't let others think I look as old as the one's I'm hanging around with." Just kidding...see you there.
Please include your name and class year with your e-mail to me.
T. Tommy

Reunion Opened For Visitors
Remember that you don't have to be a member of the Classes of '64-'65-'66 to sign up and to come to our reunion. The Reunion Committee has elected to open our doors and hearts to members of other classes or just friends from other schools who would like to attend. Even if you did not graduate with us, you're still invited. The Reunion Application can be found below and you are welcome to send it in with your money and attend all the activities. We welcome all who want to party with us.

Last Week's
Mystery Classmates
Wanted

Class of '64
I've still got your 1960 General Yearbook, Carol Jean. It's in safe keeping, but I wish I had gotten hold of it before your kids and grandkids and dogs and cats and maybe even Dubb got hold of it. As you know, it is not complete, and it looks like it is not complete by many pages.
So, I'm looking for a favor from one of the ones pictured above or anyone else who has a complete copy of this book. My plans were to scan it in the same manner in which I scanned the 1964-65-66 yearbooks and make digital copies of it available. If any of you have a complete yearbook and would bring it with you to the reunion, I will bring my scanner and take a few minutes and scan dozen or so pages that are missing from Carol Jean's. I would like to be able to do that while there and let you take it back with you after the reunion.
If I can do that, then I will bring back the scans and put them together with the other pages and make a complete annual.
This is a great book of memories. It has the missing 9th grade class that was one year ahead of the Lee High School Class of '64 who were in the 8th grade in this book. I have personally enjoyed seeing the photos of some of those classmates that did not make it to walk across the stage with us at graduation, but shared the 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11th grades with us.
I know we're going to have a lot of pictures to fill the upcoming issues of Lee's Traveller, but these will keep us on track with memories of those golden days.
Please let me know or just bring your 1960 General with you to the reunion and help share the pre-Lee memories with the rest of us. Here's a photo of a few more who might be able to help me.
2005 LHS Reunion
Information and Schedule
Friday, August 19th (2:45pm - ?) Golf at Sunset Landing Golf Course near Huntsville Airport ($16 per person). No "real" tournament - just fun.
Friday, August 19th (6:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.)
Huntsville Marriott – next to the Space & Rocket Center
Dress is casual – comfortable & cool.
Friday night’s festivities will be outside. ( In case of rain, there is an area inside where we can gather.) There will be a Hospitality Room set up for each class. To reach these rooms, go through the lobby & past the front desk. You’ll see glass doors to the right that leads out to the courtyard/pool area. The Hospitality Rooms will be across the courtyard. ( Rooms 157, 159, & 161 - tentatively.) There will be blue balloons and signs at each room. Go to your “class” room to sign the guest register and get a nametag. Light snacks and soft drinks will be provided. A Cash Bar will also be set up. There is no planned program for Friday. Just grab a seat or stroll around and visit.
Saturday, August 20th (6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.)
Huntsville Marriott Ballroom
This does not mean that dress is formal – it’s just what the room is called. Since it is inside and cooler, “more than casual” is a good way to go, but again, please dress so that you are comfortable.
This evening is designed as an opportunity to spend time with old friends, share memories, and just have a relaxed, fun-filled time.
Each class will have a registration table. (If you are paying at the door - $50.00 for a single / $90.00 for a couple - checks should be made payable to LHS Reunion; if paying with cash, please try to have correct change.) This is also where you’ll pick up your nametag and Reunion Handbook that has the latest information on your fellow classmates that we had available to us at the time the handbook went to press.
(A master copy of the handbook will be in each Hospitality Room and then at each registration table so that everyone can check information for accuracy. Any additional information and/or corrections will be posted on the website at a later date so that you can up-date your copy.)
Note: If you are unable to attend the reunion, any extra handbooks will be available for purchase after the reunion. Watch the website for details.
Guests (former teachers) need to go to the Class of ‘65’s registration table to pick up their nametags.
The evening meal will be a buffet of heavy hors d’oeuvres, coffee, & tea. The food will be served from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. A Cash Bar will be available.

Note to those that have made room reservations at the Marriott
When confirming you reservation, be sure to tell them that you are attending the Lee High School reunion and that you are requesting a “double room by the cabana”.
Keep in mind that you will be talking to someone at a central reservation center that really has no idea what you’re talking about, but once the Huntsville Marriott receives the information it will make sense to them. They will try to accommodate our requests as best they can, but it wouldn’t hurt to re-confirm your reservations using this information. (Only double rooms are available in the area we’re talking about. If you prefer a different type room in a different location, please let them know that too.)

Reunion Questions
by Niles Prestage
Class of '65
We still continue to get great responses from our final round of "Who are you"............
"I have chased kangaroos in Australia; ridden mules to the bottom of the Grand Canyon; reeled in 40 pd. halibut from 240 ft. deep in Alaska; and hula danced with the natives in Tahiti."
"In another life, I was a deckhand, cook, and pilot on a river tow boat
pushing coal and gasoline barges on the Black Warrior River. Thought I was Mark Twain!"
"I have provided Sunday School Lessons since the year 2000 for over 1500 people a week in the U.S. and in countries such as Japan, Germany, Belgium, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, and Japan."
"I was team captain for the Fresno St. frog jumping team. winning the college division 3 years in a row at Calaveras County Jumping Frog Jubilee in California."
Next Saturday Evening, every response will be recognized during the program, and a "Blue Ribbon Panel" composed of members from all three classes will pick the top three "Who are you"? submissions and a Grand Prize Winner will be crowned! It's still not too late........
And it is still not too late..................................
For those who will be in attendance on Saturday night, we would like you to answer one or both of the following questions;
1) "My greatest but least known accomplishment (honor, achievement) since I left LHS is ________________________"
2) "A fact about me (what I have done, who I have met, where I have been) that most of my classmates would probably never guess is __________________"
E-mail them to Niles Prestage, Class of '65, at napjr@aol.com .
The rules are that the statement or fact must be true and they are to tell no other classmate who will be in attendance their answers. We are really going to have fun with this!
We received the following comments on the tribute:
Darla Steinberg, Class of ‘6 - Tommy, what a beautiful tribute you have created to our classmates who are no longer with us! I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the work you do all year long to keep the Lee site interesting and current. I am sure the reunion will be great fun for everyone. I won't be able to attend as school starts Aug. 8 here in the Atlanta area and the first few weeks of school are the most hectic for us teachers. However, I will be thinking about you all...and I will get the reunion "news" from friends who ARE able to attend. Again, thanks for all you do!
Susie Brown, Class of ‘6 - Thanks for doing such a great job.....Your tribute for those no longer with us was beautifully done. It made me sad but also brought back a lot of happy memories.
I'm looking forward to seeing you at the Reunion.
Sincerely,
Joyce Whitlock Reiling, Class of ’66 - Tommy, I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful job you did on the tribute to our classmates who have died. It always amazes me that so many of the classmates of ‘64, ‘65 and ‘66 are no longer among us, except perhaps in spirit. Again, thanks for the tremendous job you do at keeping us all connected.
Cecilia Levan Watson, Class of ‘6 – WOW, the tribute to your classmates that have passed away was wonderful. Beautifully done and the music was prefect.
Skip Cook, Class of ’64 - Tommy, Our hats are off to you for another great issue of Lee’s Traveller and specifically the article on Terry Preston. I saw Terry only one time since graduation and that was at the mini-reunion a couple of years ago. Terry and I weren’t close friends at Lee but he showed tremendous enthusiasm at seeing me again. I will always remember the big smile and hug that he gave me when I arrived. A couple of months later, he was gone. The piece that you did remembering all of our other classmates that are no longer with us was great as well.
Dianne Hughey McClure, Class of '64 -Thank you for the tribute to our classmates. I know it took time, but it really meant a lot to me. I was wondering if you knew what happen to Frankie Kennedy? I used to see her very often. She worked at Caster Knotts at the mall and we talked quiet often. Also Ronnie wondered what happened to Glenn Kennedy.
Judy Kincaid, Class of ’66 - Last night after the reunion committee meeting I was able to view the special Memorial you did on our classmates that have passed away. How beautiful!! ( Several of us were unable to open it on our "slow-poke" home computers so we went ...
Kathy Jones, Class of ’66 - We got to watch this slide show at the committee meeting Tuesday night. It is so impressive and well done. We are hoping that the ones who weren't able to view in online will be able to see it at the reunion. You do such a good job.
Alice Gullion Preston, Class of ’64 - You did an excellent job on the deceased classmates video! Is there any way it could be available for those who would like to see it on Friday night? Possibly it could be set up in Class of ‘64 room?
The Memorial Tribute will be shown a few times during the reunion. Check the Class of '64 or Lee's Traveller area for a schedule of showings and locations.

I am a Lee parent and often browse your site for the nostalgia and information contained there. Make sure to let your readers know about the big game with Grissom on Thursday night the 18th for those already in town and others that might want to come a day early for your reunion. Keep up the good work

For the first time in my life, I will take Lehman Williams advice regarding the reunion in two weeks. I will not purchase the Grecian Formula, try to lose weight (impossible to do anyway), or get an emergency liposuction to remove the spreading mass around my middle. I look forward to seeing special old friends that share the common bond of Lee High School and growing up in Huntsville. My sincere thanks to all of those who have met, planned, addressed the details, worried with lists, and made phone calls to make the reunion possible. Thanks for all of your efforts.

Tommy, This site is awesome. I know you have to be very devoted to maintaining this. My husband and I recently started attending a new class in our church and I had an alumni from Lee (Spencer Thompson) teaching the class one Sunday and he shared the web address with me. I will not be able to attend the reunion in August due to another commitment. I am sure the town of Huntsville will be hopping. Thank you for taking the time for sharing all this information for all of us who may not know a lot of these pieces of information. By the way, just a bit of information. I retired from the Boeing Company in Huntsville on August 1, 2002. At Boeing my career was devoted to Human Resources where I managed Benefits (Insurance, 401K, Retirement, Leaves of Absence, Deceased Affairs and Long Term Disabilities). I am sure that is more info than needed but I have to say retirement is great! I stay busier than ever. Take care and have fun at the reunion.

Thanks for the copy of the ’64 yearbook I got from you recently. I misplaced mine many years ago so I’ve been enjoying reviewing it daily in preparation for the coming reunion. Man, Lehman has been right all these years……the ladies in our classes were truly lovely – all of them.
