2005 has arrived and I am happy to be here. This year promises some special times for many of us. It marks the 5th year of this web site, and before the year is over, we will all get together for another reunion.

Because of our special bonds, our three classes have enjoyed the benefits of combining forces to have one big reunion every five years. Based on the graduation year of our middle class (1965), it has given us the opportunity to have bigger and better reunions and a chance to share memories with many classmates that we went to school with, but did not graduate with.

If any of you that are not '64-'65-'66 graduates but feel a bond with this class would like to join us at the reunion please coordinate it with a member of the Reunion Committee. I feel sure that the wishes of a few of you can be accomidated, if it doesn''t turn out to be an entire class year. Also, if any of you readers moved and did not actually graduate from Lee, but still feel a bond with this group then you are welcome also.

I hope all of you have a very Happy 2005, and hope to see you before the year is over.

T. Tommy

Who Are They?
Celebrities Who Died in 2004

This week’s paper had a list of celebrities who died in 2004 and included some lesser known ones whose names we might not even recognize. I picked out a list of a few who did something that affected us or played a part in our childhood memories. A few should be easy, and a few may present challenges because we may not have ever known their names but should certainly remember their work. See if you know who these people are and what they did.

1. Bob Keeshan
2. Sam Edwards
3. Jackson Beck
4. Vaughn Meader
5. Jan Berry
6. Timi Yuro
7. Skeeter Davis
8. Jerry Scoggins
9. June Taylor
10. Fay Wray

Annette McCraney, Class of '64 - Well, I tried to cheat and look at my own plastic Buddha- the same one you posted- to make sure I had the right answer, but nowhere on it could I find the name except for Swank, New York, Distributer.  I do believe it contained 3 ounces of a men's cologne that I happened to like
very much at the time, except the guys that wore it usually wore WWAAAAYYYY too much.  I believed it was the container for Jade East Cologne.   Talk about instant Karma...Just now I pulled the head off to take a sniff and the plastic stopper broke off inside the neck!!! That's what I get for cheating....

Barbara Wilkerson Donnelly, Class of '64 - That's a little Buddha. I remember the men's cologne, Jade East, very well. It was sold in bottles that looked like a Buddha, I think. Or Buddha's picture was on the bottle. I'm not sure about that, but I know for a fact that the Jade East guys smelled really great!!!! There was a guy I worked with years later who had a tiepin that looked like a Buddha. Everyone was always rubbing the tiepin for good luck. Sometimes someone would have a small statue and the same would occur. You are so correct -- it would not be politcally correct today!

We'll start the year off with a challenge. Above is a pair of items that were around when we were growing up in Huntsville. What are they, for what were they used, and who remembers having a set of these?

It's time to take a few moments and look back at the group of Classmates who departed our Fami-LEE this year. We know each of you have your own special memories of one or more of these special people. It's sometimes hard to believe that these smiling faces will no longer be around to share the memories with us.

We hope each of you will have a great 2005 and that all of you will make plans to join us August 19-20 for the Reunion.
