A Happy Letter From a Classmate
December 11, 2000
Dear Tommy,
I just wanted to let you know about something special that came about because of your web page and the 2000 class reunion.
I found out about the reunion on the internet and decided to go for the first time. I had not been aware of the other reunions because I had moved 18 times in 21 years. It had been 34 years since I had seen anyone from Lee and this was a nerve racking experience for me, not knowing if anyone would remember me or if I would remember anyone. I spent several days studying my yearbook before the reunion.
Craig Bannecke and I met at this reunion and have been "happily together" ever since.
Craig and I met on Friday night. We didn't know each other well in high school but did know each other by sight. We found out through mutual friends that we both lived in Augusta, Georgia. Saturday night we danced quite a few dances together and decided we would try to get together after we returned to Augusta. Bingo! We had our first date August 30 and have been together almost every day since. We returned to Huntsville at Thanksgiving because both of our families still live there. We also had the opportunity to get together with a few other Lee graduates of the 64-65-66 classes at Carol Jean Williams house. It was a lot of fun.
I am including a recent picture of Craig and I. Hope there are others from the reunion that have been as fortunate and as lucky as we have been.
So, the moral of this story is "Go to the Reunions" and "Old Friends are Still the Best Friends".
Fondly,
Jennifer (White) Baughman |
