This week we are saddened to report the loss of another member of our Fami-LEE. I remember the English class that I took from Mrs. Dozier but can't remember if it was 11th or 12th grade English. My fondest memories of her was her soft "monotone" voice and how difficult it was to pay attention to class when she was speaking. I studied English with her right after lunch, and with a full belly, and her reading in that nice, soft voice, I was easily lulled to sleep. I can still recall the way she spoke and especially remember a common phrase she used that sounded to me like "Note-ish the board" when was trying to show us something on the blackboard.

Please include your name and class year with your e-mail to me.
T. Tommy

Just read the New Years day edition.  Again very good.  It is usually the first thing that I do when I get home from work on Sunday evenings.  Also looked at you SmugMug site.  The pictures were great.  Thanks again for your dedication to the LeeFamilee.

Hi Tommy,

I know you've been interested in the renovation that has been going on at the Russell Erskine Apts.

Was there last weekend and they look great. They have uncovered the original hand carved Westcott on the ceiling in one of the apartments which had been my Aunts for  almost 18 years, it also has the original paint on the walls and they are turning that apartment into the office as the Historical Society will not let them turn it into an apartment again. It really is beautiful, its hand carved and painted gold looks like it has been done recently, but was found as originally done when they tore down the drywall. Can not believe someone would cover up something that beautiful.

The ballroom has the original crystal chandeliers that were there when the hotel was built, also they have put the fountain back in the lobby and the original hotel sign is on the side of the building. They have been able to preserve so much that they have found and turn it back to the hotel that was so prominent in the 50's and 60's. The building will have a security system with codes and you will either have to know the code of the person your visiting or ring for the manager to let you in. I also believe they will have a system on the keypad that will let you call the person your visiting so they can let you in.  All in all its much better than it has been in years.

Was so sorry to hear about Mr.. Stewart. He was a great teacher and I enjoyed his class in Psychology very much, he will be missed greatly.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and will have a great New Year. Look forward to our next reunion.

Tommy,

Since you have been on the subject of t-shirts the last few weeks, I thought that I would share this "beautiful" t-shirt with our Fami-Lee.

I was born a Texan and come from a long line of Texans.  Even though I have lived many other places, I have spent most of my life in Texas, so I am bragging a little about the Rose Bowl champions (like a Texan needs a special reason to brag, right?)  HOOK'EM HORNS!!

Adriane's gracious spirit, joy of living and encouraging outlook touched all she knew. She is survived by her son, Paul James; daughter, Jeanne Suzanne; and sister, Amelia Giess of North Carolina. Visitation will be today from noon until the start of services at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 12200 Bailey Cove Road.

How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?

If money doesn't grow in trees then why do banks have branches?

Since bread is square, then why is sandwich meat round?

Why do you have to "put your two cents in"...but it's only a "penny for your thoughts?" Where's that extra penny going to?

Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?

Why does a round pizza come in a square box?

What disease did cured ham actually have?

Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like every two hours?
