Several guys went to USMC boot camp right after graduation. I came close several times there myself. There just about HAS to be some that died there. Are you certain there are no known KIA there? Also, I have a nephew who is an Embassy Guard and after I read the military service section, I emailed him to ask if he recognized CE Wynn's name since part of my nephew's Marine training was in counter terrorism. Have You Registered Yet? You don't have to go to the courthouse to register, all you have to do is click on the "Join The Mailing List" button to the left of the screen. It will take you less than a minute but will insure that your name is added to our mailing list so that you can be notified of important changes and events in the future. Those that are members of the mailing list can be contacted by the Traveller Web Staff with one simple mailing that goes out to all our classmates. Please help us help you. Speaking of classmates, I have noticed that a lot of people who have signed up for Classmates.com have not done so with our own website. In the next few weeks I am going to personally send out e-mails to those who have not. If you happen to receive one of these e-mails by accident, then please don't get upset. Okay, let's remember the courthouse. The above postcard of the Madion County Courthouse came from the 1950's. I loved the way that the coutrthouse was the center of Huntsville. Who of you cannot remember the nights we parked around the courthouse to go across the street to the dances? Remember the cafeteria that had the dances downstairs? Remember the bands that played there? The Continentals, The Tempests, and a whole lot of other ones. The place was Bradley's. I personally spent lots of wonderful weekend nights dancing there. I also remember that on Saturday mornings preachers would come to the steps of the courthouse and preach, and folks would sit and whittle red cedar while they listened. Woud some of you send my some of your own memories of the courthouse? I'll feature them in a future webpage. |
